Great News About Tribe’s Future!

From an email I received today from Mark Pincus…

Hey guys,

I wanted to let you know that we have been working hard to ensure that Tribe will remain an independent and vibrant community. To that end, we sold the software to Cisco and most of the engineering team went along with the deal to reduce overhead. We are managing to make enough via Google’s AdSense to get closer to break even. Today Tribe has 100,000 members visiting every month and an additional 2 million non-members who visit the site to view all your content like recommendations, threads and photos.

If you want to support Tribe, write a review of something you love or list a car, apartment or job. Invite more friends. Use Tribe to plan your next party. (It’s a floor cleaner, no a desert topping…ok bad SNL reference.)

We know there have been performance and downtime issues with the site recently. We’re working hard on making the site faster and more stable. Plus we’ll be adding some cool new features soon. So stay tuned!
