Suggestion for Microsoft Live Spaces: Integrate with the Desktop

TechCrunch covers recent upgrades to Microsofts blogging platform/social network Microsoft Live Spaces. It looks good, has lots of users (globally), and has good features.

One thought that popped into my head was that Live Spaces would be a great opportunity for Windows shell integration. i.e.: “one-click photo posting” - right-click on a photo, and choose “post to Live Spaces,” and windows would automatically resize, upload, and link-to-large your photo after giving you an opportunity to add a comment - sort of like the Outlook auto-resize feature when you “send to” an email recipient.

Such a feature IMHO would be great for non-techies. I wonder if (a) it already exists and I’ve missed it, or (b) MS shys away from such integration to avoid monopoly concerns, and (c) why all of the blogging sites don’t offer a desktop-install to enable such functionality.

‘Very cool idea. I’m not much of a Win32 programmer, but I woulder if someone could (or already did) write a plug-in for Windows Live Writer to support such a scenario. Cheers–
